Tesla V3 SuperCharger Opens in Las Vegas

Tesla unveiled its first V3 Supercharger in March at its Fremont, Calif. factory. A second V3 Supercharger is located in Hawthorne, Calif., near the Tesla Design Studio. The third location has opened its gates earlier this year in Las Vegas. It’s below the High Roller on the LINQ promenade, right off the main strip. The new charging station has 24 V3 chargers, which can deliver a burst of power up to 250 kW to Model 3 vehicles and up to 200 kW on the latest Model S and Model X vehicles.

Supercharger stations with V3’s new power electronics are designed to enable any owner to charge at the full power their battery can take – no more splitting power with a vehicle in the stall next to you. With these significant technical improvements, the typical charging time at a V3 Supercharger will drop to around 15 minutes.

To help Model S and Model X vehicles, Tesla has rolled out a new feature called On-Route Battery Warmup. Now, whenever you navigate to a Supercharger station, your vehicle will intelligently heat the battery to ensure you arrive at the optimal temperature to charge, reducing average charge times for owners by 25%.
